ARTIS during the war
Join a guide on a walk through ARTIS and listen to the stories about the people and animals that had to come through World War II in ARTIS.
During the war, ARTIS served as a hiding place for Jews and members of the resistance, while German soldiers continued coming to the zoo for entertainment. The tour begins at the elephant stable every day at 11.00 am and 2.00 pm.
