Unearthed

The soil of Amsterdam
Amsterdam is growing; new buildings are rising, the city is working on a circular economy and sustainable solutions for energy, mobility and climate adaptation. Where all these intentions for our future converge, space is increasingly scarce - not only above ground, but especially underneath the city. In the exhibition ‘Unearthed; the soil of Amsterdam’ you will discover the fascinating layers beneath our feet. An exhibition that literally digs up the earth and thoroughly examines our relationship with the soil.
This exhibition was developed with the Academic Workshop Soil, a collaboration of the City of Amsterdam, University of Amsterdam, Metropolitan Region of Amsterdam, Waternet and GGD Amsterdam.
